Trusting the Healer
With the crack of the vertebrae in my back I instantly found myself angry at the chiropractor . The doctor had done nothing wrong. In fact, he skillfully helped me. But, he didn’t tell me that he was going to pound on my back. He didn’t tell me he was going to “crack” something in my neck, either. I wanted him to tell me what he was going to do before he did it. But, he wisely chose not to tell me because he knew from our first meeting that I would stiffen my muscles in anticipation of what he was going to do, and thus make it impossible for him to “fix” my problem. The Bible tells us to “trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not rely upon your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge God and he will get you where you need to go.” I want God to help me, but He does it without telling me how He is going to do it and when. He, like my chiropractor, knows that for me to be healed I have to relinquish control to the healer. Lord,. Thank you for being the healer and for taking control of my healing.
